PROTECTION - INSIDE FIRE RISK AREAS

Fire Retardant Coating No. 46081

Specialty Fire Retardant Paints – No. 46081: Thermal insulating intumescent epoxy fire retardant paint.

Flame Control No. 46081 Thermal Insulating Intumescent Epoxy Paint is a two component (catalytic epoxy) thermal insulating, semi-gloss intumescent fire retardant paint. This product is manufactured in accordance with the United States Military specification Mil-C-46081S. The coating is designed for use on Naval and Marine vessels, military and commercial aircraft, fuel tanks and storage vessels, ammunition crates, missiles, warheads and other surfaces where it is essential to obtain the maximum insulating protection under the most severe fire conditions.

Apply in two or more coats at 250-300 sq. ft./US gallon (6.1-7.4 sq. m./L) per coat. The thicker the dry film, the greater the thermal insulating properties.

Colors: White. Also available in most colors per US Federal Standard No. 595a

Fire Retardant Coating No. 50-50A

Protection for Spray Foam Insulation

No. 50-50A: Ignition barrier, water based, intumescent fire retardant paint for polyurethane foam.

Flame Control No. 50-50A Foam Kote is a VOC compliant, water base intumescent fire retardant paint, manufactured expressly for the thermal protection of polyurethane foam insulation. It dries quickly to a flat finish, having the appearance of a conventional flat paint. In the presence of heat or flame, the coating puffs up (intumesces) and forms a thick sponge-like cellular foam layer. This foam layer insulates the foam substrate from flames, reduces the penetration of heat, delays heat transfer and burn through and reduces the surface flame spread characteristics of the foam. These combined characteristics prolong the structural integrity of the foam composite assembly for both, 2 & 1/2 pound density sprayed polyurethane foams.

RECOMMENDED USES: This product is designed for use on interior polyurethane foam surfaces where it is either necessary or desirous to reduce the burn through and flame spread rating characteristics of the foam.

Fire Retardant Coating No. E-119

Specialty Fire Retardant Paints

No. E-119: 2 hour rated, flat, water based, intumescent fire retardant paint for use on walls to increase the time rating of drywall assemblies.

Flame Control E-119 2 Hour is a water-based, interior, intumescent, latex paint designed for use on walls to increase the time rating of the drywall assembly. Flame Control E-119 2 Hour has been tested in accordance with ASTM E-119 test methodology (equivalent to CAN/ULC S-101) and has achieved a two hour rating (wall construction assembly listed separately) while also successfully passing the hose stream test.

Flame Control E-119 2 Hour is a low VOC product, and can be Topcoated with Flame Control 40-40 or 400 for varying appearance and added durability. Flame Control E-119 dries to a flat finish while having the appearance of conventional flat latex paint. In the presence of heat, Flame Control E-119 2 Hour intumesces or puffs up, forming a dense protective char that insulates the substrate.

Flame Control E-119 2 Hour can be applied in a single coat, saving application time and reducing labor costs.

STANDARD FIRE PROTECTION - INTERIOR

Fire Retardant Coating No. 10-10A

Interior Fire Retardant Paints

No. 10-10A: ULC Class “A”, flat, solvent based, intumescent fire retardant paint.

Flame Control No. 10-10A is a V.O.C. compliant Class “A”, interior, mineral spirit based, flat, alkyd type, fire retardant paint, manufactured in accordance on Federal Specification TT-P-26C. No. 10-10A dries quickly to a velvety flat finish, having the appearance of a conventional paint. On contact with flame or excessive heat, the coating decomposes and puffs up (intumesces) forming a thick, dense, spongy foam layer that checks flame spread and retards heat penetration.

RECOMMENDED USES: For application to all interior combustible surfaces where it is either necessary or desirous to reduce the surface burning characteristics of combustible materials, also, on metal surfaces to retard the penetration of heat. It is not recommended for an hourly rating on structural steel beams and columns.

USED BY: Schools, Colleges, Nursing Homes, Child Care Centers, Hospitals, Penal Institutions, Apartments, Hotels, Factories, Warehouses, Retail Stores, Restaurants, Utilities, Railroad and other Transportation Companies, Oil and Chemical Installations, Military Installations, and other facilities where Class “A” fire retardant coatings are required.

USE NON TOP COATED OR TOP COATED: Top coating is not necessary for most applications, however, on surfaces requiring maximum wash ability and clean ability, No. 10-10A should be top coated with Flame Control No. 30-30 Semi-Gloss Alkyd Fire Resistant Coating or No. 40-40A Low-Gloss Latex Fire Resistant Coating

PERFORMANCE INFORMATION:

  • Class “A” fire rated; has also been fire tested for periods up to 60 minutes (1 hour) – See Fire Hazard Classification Section on downloadable technical data sheet..
  • Complies with federal, provincial, local building and fire code requirements.
  • Dries by solvent evaporation to a tough, hard, velvety flat finish.
  • Does not leach (lose fire retardancy) on exposure to high humidity.
  • Meets all present VOC and environmental/ecological regulations

STANDARD FIRE PROTECTION - EXTERIOR

Fire Retardant Coating No. 149

Exterior Fire Retardant Paints

No. 149: ULC Class “A”, flat, solvent based, intumescent fire retardant paint.

No. 149 Exterior Intumescent Fire Retardant Paint is a highly flexible, weather resistant, intumescent type fire retardant coating that is suitable for application to exterior surfaces where maximum fire protection is required or preferred. When exposed to fire and/or high heat, the coating intumesces (puffs up) to form a thick, dense foam fire barrier. This foam layer reduces the surface burning characteristics of combustible materials and retards the penetration of heat. To achieve maximum durability, we will overcoat with Flame Control No. 400 Semi-Gloss Overcoat.

Color: White. May be tinted using not more than 2 fluid ounces of tint colorants.

Fire Hazard Classification, tested in accordance with ASTM E-84 standard.
